“And Life is Like a Song”

This jazz band wedding in Philadelphia all started with a referral from the wedding photographers. Our good friends at Chellise Michael Photography connected us with this couple who were married in September 2018. The photographers were kind enough to share some of their work with us, so I’ve gathered some favorites below. 

The couple absolutely loved jazz, so we had a wonderful time performing for them. The wedding pivoted between two historic homes in Philadelphia’s Society Hill neighborhood. When guests walked into the ceremony they were greeted with balloon letters spelling out the lyrics to Harry Warren and Mack Gordon’s immortal ballad, “At Last.”

Set for the ceremony at Philadelphia’s historic Physick house. The beautiful grounds of this historic home nestled in the Society Hill made for a setting that was both uniquely pastoral and urban.  https://www.philalandmarks.org/physick-house
During the Ceremony: Solo guitar played “La Vie en Rose” for the processional and the trio joined in for “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” as a joyously swinging recessional.

Our Gypsy Jazz trio played both before and after the ceremony.
Quartet for Dinner and Dancing at the Powell House: This wedding pivoted between two historic Society Hill homes. After the cocktail hour guests walked a few short blocks to the Powell House for Dinner and Dancing. The trio walked along with the guests while our pianist, drummer, and vocalist were already in place. 
Jennifer Jade on Vocals: We loved the floral design on this majestic tree.
