A world-class musician, Rachid Halihal brings to the community the authentic character and spirit of Middle Eastern music. His repertoire spans the beloved classical Egyptian tradition, the rich musical heritage of the Fertile Crescent, diverse styles from Morocco and North Africa, and the mesmerizing sounds of the Arabian Gulf.

Growing up in Fez, Morocco, Rachid began his musical journey as a child, playing the nei and singing while imitating the great vocalists of his time. At the age of fourteen, he enrolled in Dar Aadyil, the Conservatory of Music in Fez. There, he initially studied Western classical and Andalusian music, focusing on piano and violin. Over time, he expanded his expertise to include a wide range of instruments, allowing him to more fully express the depth of his native musical traditions.

In addition to his expressive voice—particularly well-suited to the Andalusian style—Rachid’s primary instruments are the oud and the violin. He skillfully performs violin in both the classical Western style and the traditional upright position on the knee, characteristic of Moroccan folkloric music.

Complementing the musical experience, we also offer a variety of talented belly dancers. These performers can present captivating solo acts set to recorded tracks or collaborate with live musicians for a vibrant and immersive showcase of Middle Eastern music and dance.
